Small Business Saturday is a campaign encouraging shoppers to support small businesses across the UK. Please help spread the word by telling friends, family and businesses about this great day. And if you do some shopping at the weekend and pop into your local shops I think you’ll be surprised by what you can find. I would much prefer a handmade and unique gift than some mass-produced item sold by a major high street retailer.
When is Small Business Saturday?
It takes place on one of the busiest shopping days of the year – Saturday 7 December 2013 which is the first Saturday in December. The hope is that once you see what small, local shops and businesses can offer you, you will also continue to support these unique enterprises after Small Business Saturday.
Which businesses will you be supporting?
Please post below which businesses you’ll be supporting. Or if you’re a small business let us know what you’re doing to celebrate on Saturday. Please make sure that the business fits with the blog by being ethical, organic, fairtrade, selling local and handmade products, etc. Don’t forget to include the location and a website if they have one. This is a case of use them or lose them and I’m sure we’ve all seen local shops closing in our area.
